I am currently dealing with IT/hardware issues for two potential clients: a large city in the Unexplored Southern Area and a health region here in the great white north. In both cases the potential clients are keen but are held up, at least partly, by high hardware replacement costs.

The city can probably replace several hundred Windows/Office machines with Linux/OpenOffice on low-cost hardware, and thereby achieve large savings, and I would encourage this, except that this would make it hard for them to use our system :( since it is Notes based and Notes doesn't run (for certain) on Linux.

Needless to say, I find this irritating to put it mildly.

May I return your question: why wouldn't a low cost hardware machine with Linux be a good target market for Notes? You don't want the business? You don't care about anything outside the Fortune 500? ;)
